Project Manager and Web Developer for The Tech Academy

As Live Project Director at The Tech Academy I serve as the technical lead and project manager for student live projects. These live projects entail building or enhancing live web applications for clients that partner with the school. Because my position is managing students in an educational environment my role takes on an instructional onboarding element as well. These projects have ranged from WordPress sites, to JavaScript games, to ASP.NET applications using MVC. As the technical lead, I serve as the students point of contact for help in troubleshooting their code and coming up with elegant solutions to enhance the application. As the project manager I am responsible for interfacing between the client, my supervisor and the students, making sure that the client's expectations for their web application are being exceeded as well as that the students are learning, excelling and excited about a career in web development.

  • Provided students with technical oversight, helped students troubleshoot, and coordinated with product own-ers to shape design goals.

  • Attentively navigated between client’s needs, my supervisor’s goals and students’ differing knowledge levels.
  • Diligently coordinated with the client to shape design goals and timelines that met their needs while delivering a quality live project experience to the students.
  • Industriously grew the role into a position that managed all 7 of the school’s live projects autonomously, interfaced directly with the clients and handled the scheduling and onboarding of students, making the live project experience more cohesive for students and efficient for the company.
